Quiet Fans Required

I'm in the process of building a new i5 3570K pc and for the case I've gone with the Coolermaster Silencio 550 (mainly due to the integrated Hard Drive Dock).

Given that it's meant to be a 'near silent' case, I was suprised when I turned the PC on to find that the included 120mm fans were quite loud on system startup (they go quieter within a couple of seconds but that's due to them slowing down to 800rpm).

So, I am now on the lookout for some quiet 120mm fans and wondered what you guys would suggest.

I've got an Antec Khuler watercooler waiting to go in the PC (just waiting on some thermal paste) but would ideally like to replace all the fans with the same.

Is it really that annoying on start up that you want to change your fans ?

Just had a look at the spec for the case fans and they are max 800 Rpm

Cooling

System Front(Intake): 120mm x 1, 800rpm silent fan pre-install
(Support 120mm fan x 2 or 140mm fan x 1 optional)
Rear (Exhaust): 120mm x 1, 800rpm silent fan pre-install

Yes it really is that annoying. It's not just a bit of a noise when it starts up, it's actually quite loud. I've not run the system long enough to see what it does when it's warm in the case but 800rpm fans aint gonna be much use.

Doesn't really matter if you change your fans. Presumably they're on PWM/fan controller so they will alway be ramped up to max on startup. It's sort of a POST for the fans.

My system does it and I have some 2200rpm Corsair SP120s in there. After 30 secs they're pretty much silent after PWM has done it's "POST" and settled.

You'll pretty much find this will happen regardless of what fan you chose to replace with.

If it REALLY annoys you that much, why not do what other do, turn on, go make a cuppa and come back.
