Quiet i7 HSF

Hi Guys

I need a HSF for an i7 920 system. It will not be oced and so im looking for a heatsink that comes with a very quiet fan.
Budget is £50 max and iv been looking at this one:

How quiet is the fan on it?

If you are not overclocking why buy a third-party cooler? Stick with the standard Intel one.

It's not the quietest, but it's PWM, which helps. If you're not overclocking then the Scythe Orochi is the quietest out there, but it's huge. The Zipang/Zipang 2 would be a good choice.

Thanks for your input. I find stock coolers a little whiney, also I like to keep temps to minimum so I dont need to have too many case fans.
Any thoughts on this one, as people seem to rate it:

The titan isnt quiet.
If you want quiet your best shout is to buy a Prolimatech Megahelems and two quiet PWM controlled fans.

You could certainly do worse that a Megahalems with an Akasa Apache (PWM).

Interesting suggestion.
The IFX-14 only beats the megahelems when it has 3 140mm fans. But as this is not for overclocking that may not be so relevant. As the larger fans can shift more air at lower rpms they can be quieter - so an IFX-14 with 2 140mm quiet PWM fans may be quitest option.

Since you're not overclocking, you have the option of running at stock speeds but lower volts than default. Any decrease in voltage will greatly reduce the heat thrown out by the chip, and so the speed the fan must spin at.

The megalahems or the TRUE would be my choice, with the pwm fan set to start up only if the cpu goes over 70 degrees.

It may get a little expensive after I buy 2 fans to go with it. I have read a few reviews which rate this cooler:

It may not be the best performer but still performs well and is meant to be near silent.
Anyone tried it?

Good advice, im actually running mine at 3.0ghz undervolted, at stock the voltage was sitting at 1.208, got it down to 1.18.
