I am putting together a PC that is as quiet as possible. Can anyone recommend a decent nvidia card (pci-e) that just uses a heat sink? I play some games, but nothing too heavy on the graphics so it doesn't need to be fantastic. wanting to spend less than £100.

Cheers

Dave

the 7600gs is generally passively cooled (although some of the cheaper ones have fans).

You can get one for between £80 and £100. Just get the cheapest one, doesn't really matter about make at this point

The 7600 GS is considerably slower than the GT and with the GT costing only 17 more it would be mad not to get the faster card,

suppose so, but you can get a 7600gs now for £78 which is a £40 difference, which is a lot of money for some people. Depends how tight your £100 budget is!

I downgraded back to a loud GeforceFX (and got a 360 :D). I just alter the fan settings in Rivatuner to make it silent. I don't see why you couldn't do it with any of the cards mentioned.
