ok im doing some adjustments to my pc which will make it a better performer but i also want it to stay quiet

my current setup is practically silent

corsair a50 with akasa apache 120mm

be quiet fans on a controller plus a cooler master 200 fan which is silent.

sapphire 7850 silent also.

ocz 650w psu which is the loudest part of my system but still quiet ish

my new spec will include

Prolimatech Black Megahalems

with 2 akasa apache 140mm

and a corsair ax750w psu

anyone got any suggestions that will either improve the system with regards to performance or keeping it quiet? btw a noctua d14 isnt on the list as i prefer the look of the megahalems, ultimate cooling is not a priority.

You don't specify what cpu/motherboard you have or which chassis.

I found that cutting the front fan mesh out really made my fans quieter and provided a big airflow boost in my old silent case. Enable AAM for mechanical hard drives (Auto Acoustic Management) I used CrystalDiskInfo for that. Can't really think of anything else to say because no idea what cpu you have.

You could fine tune your cpu voltage to lower heat, so less fan rpm required at load.
Perhaps also doable on the gfx if it has voltage control? Would mean less heat output into ambient case temp (i doubt much of a diff tbh)

Another idea is to set seldon used storage hdd's to power down in power managment. (the whirring bugs me a lot).

Good cooling on vrm's if you havent got any (and so are runnig hot) could contribute to a little lower powerdraw on the psu. (probably pushing it with that one, but i might just experiment on my own system just to satisfy my curiosity now).

Apaches are good quiet fans and Megahalems is good cooler.
Don't know about AX750 but TX750 "Ultra Quiet" is a bald face lie.:(

I value Helios' knowledge... I'm using TY-140 and TY143 fans.... and a couple of Akasa FN053 fans. TY fans are very good.
