quiet please...

Define "silent". Passive is the obvious answer but not many half decent GPUs are available passively cooled by default. HIS IceQ equipped cards get recommended often for low noise/cool running, though obviously not silent by the dictionary definition

PowerColor do a passive 7850 1GB, which is a fair bit faster than your 7750, the SCS3. OCUK don't sell it and obviously I can't say who has it, but one reputable retailer might have 3 in stock...

thanks for the replies. im wanting the gpu to cover bf4, 1080p. i can't afford to go building a whole new gaming rig, and is has to be quiet as pc is used for tv in bedroom also.

currently have an amd phenomii 965 stock, asus m4a88tdv evo, and 2x4gb xms3 1600, which runs bf3 acceptably.

second card is looking favourite at the moment...

At idle most cards make very little nose. I have my PC in my bedroom to and sometimes have it on when I fall asleep. I can't hear anything at idle or watching a film as it all downclocks and adjust the fan speeds accordingly.

If you want to play BF4 I would recommend forgetting passive cards and just going with a quiet GPU as there are plenty about. Something like a 2GB Sapphire is pretty quiet and offers great performance.

7750 in crossfire is actually pretty decent, and definitely the quietest option. You will have to completely forget about using AA though.

You got to ask yourself though, does your pc's noise levels actually benefit from having a fanless gpu? How loud is your cpu cooler/power supply/case fans? In most instances these drown out noise from the graphics card.

You can fit an Accelero S1 Plus to a GTX 650 without a fan.

Andi.

I assume you mean the 650 ti? The 650 performs almost exactly the same as the 7750 he already has so would be pointless.

The 650 ti can be fitted with the arctic s1 plus but I don't think the performance difference would be worth the hassle. 7750 crossfire would perform better

im running ssd's and gelid tranquilo cpu cooler. its quiet.

cost is an issue too, can't really splash on a top end card atm. aa not really an issue, as long as i can get things playing smooth its all good. if i can add a 7750 and get bf4 to match what i see in bf3 at the moment, that will do me.

Your request is a common one and the simple fact is high end gaming silently can only be done with a fair bit of effort or expense.

I do have a cheap suggestion though there are cards that when idle do not even spin up the fans and so are effectively passive for things like surfing and watching tv or streaming but ramp up the fans when gaming.

A PC built using this sort of card a Hybrid PSU and a fan controller can be made 100% passive while surfing/streaming/tv while still being a completely capable gaming machine without going stupidly expensive.

Yes I do.
