Could someone recommend a quiet PSU for around £60. It needs to be able to run a E2180, 4GB of ram, 3850 512mb and 2 sata drives (750GB HD and DVD Burner). I dont care about having excess voltage to play with and probably can get away with a 450W PSU, the main priority is that it has to be and remain as quiet as possible

Yes the Corsair Range is very quiet, and reliable, but also the Antec EarthWatts is near silent as well. Antec is a little cheaper, but personally I would get the Corsair (I have one).

This is £8 over your budget, but if you want quiet you can't beat it.

I did have a Corsair, and I did think it was quiet. Until I switched to my 600W Be Quiet! I realise now that I cold hear the Corsair after all, but I honestly don't think I could hear this one even when it was out of the case.

Make that 250W...

Agreed. I have a similar rig, the only difference being a E5200 @3.33Ghz. The whole rig only draws a peak of 205w from the wall and that's running Orthos and Fur stability test at the same time. Idle is only 80w at the wall. I use a Enermax Pro 82+ 385w. It's perfect for the rig and is very, very quiet. It only cost me £36 too!!

my zalman 1000w psu is quieter than my noctua fans by a mile, its quieter than water pump as well. so its the quietest thing in my rig and undetectable above ambient when its a metre or so away from ya :)
