Before going ahead on I thought I'd ask for opinions. Currently use will be non-gaming - work docs, music on itunes, streaming video and some photo editing. I will try to run it fanless to see how it gets on, I have a similar cpu heatsink that I could try first to see if this is workable. I can always use fans later if they are needed.
Looking for a modular PSU, doesn't have to be fully, but would prefer only the 2 motherboards cables to be non-modular to reduce cable clutter affecting cooling. I keep reading don't buy a cheap PSU, but the fanless ones certainly are not. There is a fully fanless that fits, the Seasonic X-460 which is a similar price to the Seasonic X-650 (which should run without the fan as it is low-power system). The pico is low power and not that cheap once a power brick is added and in the longer term would restrict upgrades.
Asus mATX H77 or Z77 motherboard preferred as I have another system with a P8Z77.
I3-3225 for low power usage.
System, programs should fit on the SSD, I may fit an HDD, but still to decide.
An External optical disk as only needed for the odd software load or music cd.
I'll probably get a new keyboard as I only have working PS2 ones at the moment.

The case, PSU and heatsink would seem to be the main areas where I am unsure, but I want to build around something with plenty of airflow, small footprint and restrained styling.
The last pc I built down to a price and have regretted it ever since, I don’t want to make the same mistake again.
