quieter case fans

I was recently messing around with my case and could not get my fans In a designated barcket so I cut of half the sides of the fan and now when i compare it to my other case fans you can actually tell the difference in sound. Can someone who has a pair of old unwanted case fans clarify this. It also seems to blow more air into my face then the other case fans. all the fans are exactly the same BTW.

LMFAO... lol na mate i really didnt want to cut it in half at first i was fileing the sides and i filed it a bit too much and one half broke so i broke of the other half and got what you see in the pic. still laughing about the quadcore might giive it a go.

Well this is... different

You can see why it would make less noise. Im tempted to operate on some old 120mm's i have in the cupboard somewhere.

Arctic cooling already do them.

Excellent fans but only blow in one direction.
