currently using a theralright xp120 and a ys-tech fd1238 its running through a fan controller but still a little noisy,is there one that is qiuter, cheers.
You could try the Nexus 120mm ones, i have one on the front and one on the rear, and i cannot hear them unless i stick my head in the case and put my ear near em.
cheers i will check both them out,i could not hear the cpu fan untill i just upgraded the power supply to a seasonic well impressed how quiete that is.
Hello all, i use an xp-90c and have a panaflo on it, exceptionally quiet and shifts a lot of air also, shame ocuk dont stock them. Only downside is that they are just your average looking black fans.
I'd watch out for your temps with the Akasa Ambers as the reason they give such good noise ratings is because the air flow is almost non-existant. Ok for case fans but would not use to cool the CPU. Tried one on an XP90C (easy to mod even though designed for 92mm fan).
Temps jumped by 10C even on full RPM of 1400. Soon as I put the ys -tech 1238 back on temps were fine again although it was obviously noisier.
Apart from Panaflo does not seem to be any other fans out there which are both silent + powerful enough to cool a CPU properly. You also need a 38mm deep fan as this pushes a lot more air onto the XP120.
The trade off with silent fans + air cooling is you need more to do the same job as any decent (noisy) high CFM model. Sometimes you also hit air noise problems as in too many silent fans introduce a lot of air flow noise when it is moving around the case (especially noticeable if you have any open vents/grills on the side/front.
well ive picked up a akasa will plug it in and give it a try later ,i do keep a eye on the temp using smartgardian,so will let you know later what the temp its running at i get 27 to 32 ' cent depending on room temp running at lowest speed.
ok ive put the akasa on and temps have risen but 3/4 degress max (running at lowest speed)but the silence is great,
anyone know the safe temp level for a amd 64 3700 sandiago ,ill set the alarm then, cheers.
cheers i am well below ive set the alarm to 50'c so i should get a early warning,do they have a shut down built in if anything should go wrong or is it bang, cheers again.
