Quietest 1kW+ PSU?

I see what you mean about the price - but fanless operation up to 400-600W utilisation is a very tempting prospect.

I doubt I will ever use the capacity, but efficiency and noise level might be worth the investment - thanks for the tip... I may well go for it :)
 
I have ended up going for the

Super Flower Leadex Platinum 1200W

It is passive/fabless up to the 500W mark, makes under 19dB when the fan does eventually spin up, has lower jitter for potentially slightly more stable over locks, I won't use the full 1200W - let alone 1500W and it is nearly half the price of the Corsair.

I'm ok with spending the extra if it warrants it, but with extra reading... This Super Flower and its EVGA brother seem to do a very good job for half the price.
 
I'm sure that's a great unit :)

Only thing I would say, Tech Power up and also some where else I read iirc said the 1200w unit was noisier than the 1000w for some reason I cant remember (but I do know that's the view I got when I looked into them as I bought the 1000w myself for another build). Just a thought.
