Quietest 4090

My MSI Suprim X in Silent Bios mode is pretty much that, silent. Even in the Gaming Bios mode the card is pretty much silent for me. Good airflow in my O11 Air stops the fans from spinning up much at all which is fantastic.

Its funny because I’m sure HWUB weren’t that impressed and had it as a fairly loud card yet the user experience for me has been the complete opposite.

Yup, 2yr warranty a downfall though.

@LtMatt has one and been v happy with it tbf.
Please, I prefer to call it the 'Midnight Kaleidescope - God-tier of 4090 GPUs'.

But yeah, the cooler is very quiet and is one of if not the best available on the 4090s.

Shame about that two-year warranty though for the money you pay.

Aka The Jizz Card :D

MSI asked them to send that card back to them and MSI said it had been put together defectively. I think there was missing thermal pads on the backplate which ment the memory was overheating and causing the issues with noise and temps.

Early production cards can often have QC issues and it is why the HWunboxed policy of buying retail parts later into a products cycle is so effective at getting a true representation of a product.

That makes sense as my clocks etc were higher also. I just found it bizarre at the time as it was jarring compared to my card.

my zotak amp aero is very quiet, in game it doesnt go louder than 33-34dba in game
Same, been really happy with mine, can’t hear it over the case fans. Tried the quake 2 rtx demo as this gets the gpu and vram pretty warm compared to gaming normally and the fans never even hit 50% while the gpu was sitting about 67c and vram about 72c.

When gaming normally the gpu usually sits about 60c to 65c with a 30% fan speed the majority of the time, find it rare to hit 40% or more unless I give the card a heavy ray tracing load. vram temps are usually mid 60s as well.

Really impressed with this cooler. So many people seem to hate the design but it’s honestly my favourite design this generation. Also it looks far nicer installed and lit up in person than it does in photos.

I dont think any 4090 is loud, they are all really quiet, the coolers are so large the fans don't need to do much work. :)

Definitely, that's what I love about this gen of cards, they may be insane in size but they do keep really cool. If I cap my frame rate in the Division 2 to 120fps at 4K fully maxed out my GPU temps are in the mid to high 50s and in Destiny 2 120fps at 4K the 4090 is such overkill it's in the low 50s and even downlocking occasionally, makes for a nice quiet system for a change. Wish they all went overkill on the coolers years ago :)
