Quietest affordable CPU cooler for E6300

Okay, I made a shocking error with my motherboard purchase and bought a GA-945P-S3 instead of the GA-965P-S3 I meant to.
The result of this is I'm going to go woefully overbudget buying the right replacement, so I've switched into "well if I'm already overbudget I may as well buy..." mode.
So I'm treating myself to a nice CPU fan to make myself feel better for my error.
Not entirely logical I know, but that's what my 'mate' Mastercard is for.
So to summarise, what's the quietest CPU cooler for under £40?

Is it quieter than the stock E6300 cooler (which is actually surprisingly quiet itself)?

I have one of these. I get pretty bad temps 40 on load on my e6300 on stock. I just used the thermalpaste on the cooler. Should i change it to some of my akasa stuff. As i have no AS5 yet

40 on load is pretty good,even tho' its stock.leave it on till you get some as5.

Except, from another thread, that's with the fan running at full speed rather than under proper mobo control.

artic pro 7 for the win

lol have it on my e6700 running at 3.3ghz. currently at 30c idle with fan running at 40% speed in a cool room.

they are quite loud when you have fan speed up high though. but you really dont need it at full speed. unless something is wrong in my opinion ormaybe in heat wave lol
