Quietest case?

EsaT have you used the case or just reading the specs. Ive built about 500 systems in total and the whisper is as quiet as any of the more expensive cases (silverstone, lian li) ive used. Just because it has 80mm fans doesnt mean its useless they spin so quiet you cant hear them and all drives mount on rubber so no noise there and its brilliant at keeping everything cool. Use one yourself and you will be surprised at how quiet it is.:)

People clean pc cases?
Just dusting, especially the fans.

The rattling issue happens mostly with the (Lian-Li's) front face which is detachable. Have to wipe where it attaches to case & sides which are in contact with the DVD Writer the cause of rattles when spinning even at low speeds. Admittedly I only have to do it every 3-5 wks & could be down to environment (near the window).

But whatever case your friend goes for, recommend he changes the stock fans. Went for the highly recommended Yate Loon D12SL-12s with 7v Zalman RC56 Noiseless Resistor Cable which brings them down to an inaudible level.

The Antec Solo would get my vote. Heavy steel construction with HDD suspension built in means that it is a fantastic starting point for a quiet/silent PC. However, the most important thing is to limit any fan in the case to a maximum of ~900rpm. Anything over that is noisy in my opinion.
