Evening, I'm looking for the quietest case I can reasonably get without affecting cooling too much. Here's a poor quality pic of what I have at the moment.

It's an icute case and I bought it for about £20 years ago when I was on a very tight budget for my first PC build. It's been fine but I'm starting to get bored of the lack of noise insulation - I want to work on my computer in peace :p. I upgraded all the chassis fans and changed the fan on the GPU which helped, but it's still noisy.

Specs are:

  • Xilence 600W Gaming Edition PSU
  • Q6600 with Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
  • 8800GT with aftermarket Zalman heatsink/fan
  • 4GB Patriot Memory PC2-6400 (4x 1GB sticks)
  • Gigabyte EP35C-DS3R mobo
  • PCI TV Card
  • 3x Xilence 80mm chassis fans

I don't want to spend any more than £100. I've been looking at Fractal Design Define R3 but annoyingly the door opens the wrong way.

Could somebody recommend me a case?

I watched a youtube review for the fractal last week and i think he said you can change the door to open the other way.

Hmm, could you dig out the youtube video? I can't find anything that says you can change the hinge to open the other way.

but you do get a quality, sound insulated case that still provides decent cooling

That's all I need

Btw, I should point out, I really would like a window but I assume they make things louder?
