Hey,

I've been browsing various sites looking at insurance for a 205 GTi. I thought i'd give confused.com a try, saving some time.

I was expecting quotes of around £1200, but Quinn Direct gave me an outstanding quote.

£689 TPFT!

Well chuffed with that!

Yeah just hope you don't have any problems with them. Their customer service is the worst I've ever encountered from any company. I'm stuck with the ****ers for another year.

Are they really that bad? Every other company has been quoting around £1200, so i'm well happy with the quote.

Put it this way, having had to deal with them I'd be tempted to pay the £500 extra.

Sorting out my no claims, I had to contact my previous insurer and get a letter saying that I had a years no claims. I then had to post this to Q-D and after two weeks they were saying they still hadn't recieved it despite me proving that I did with a Recorded delivery slip and if they didn't recieve it within another week they would double my premium. Loads of times they promised to ring me back but never did, I had to ring them. They said they couldn't contact my previous insurer by fax or phone and it had to be in writing, and if I ever rang within an hour of their lines closing they would just tell me to ring back tomorrow as they were finishing up for the day. In the end I asked to speak to a manager/supervisor and it got sorted with them ringing my previous insurer - Why couldn't they do this in the first place?

Also - online, they will quote me for a lot of high grouping cars however as an existing customer they say they will not give me insurance on anything over group 8. Swapping my insurance over from a T reg VTR to an X reg one took over 35 minutes on the phone for no apparant reason.

God knows what they will be like if I ever have to make a claim.

i'm currently with them, i got insured on my ibiza, and when i traded it in for my new car i got a quote off them the day before i picked new car up, next day, phoned up to start the insurance, they wanted to charge me an extra £80 on top of what they quoted me the day before (this is for the remaining 3 months of my premium), i told them where to go and that they'd quoted me £80 less the day before and they got the quote up from the day previous.
Luckily i've not had to make any claims and i'm only with them now till July.

I got recommended by a friend to the legendary irish quinn-direct!

I've had nothing but trouble from them and its only been 3 weeks. Haven't recieved my documents, no confirmation that they have recieved my letter from previous insurance etc etc. They have the worst procedures possible and the customer service is rubbish, i don't know what will happen if i ever have to claim. They'll probably say they've never heard of me.

They dont seem very professional at all- i'm sure i could hear someone having their drive tarmaced in the background.

daughter and son insured with them, no probs , takes about three weeks for docs to come . son had a bump and they fast tracked the repairs for the other vehicle .done and dusted in less than 7 days. no hassle.
