I just logged into my second router which stays on 24/7 and runs ddWRT, used that to send a magic packet to my PC, which is a bit power hungry to remain on. Then ssh'd in to the sshd running on the PC under cygwin, then used that to start Orb, which is a media server with a pretty decent web interface. So now I'm streaming all my media 300 miles to my eee up in the lakes. :D

Anyone got anything to top that?

Right, enough stunt piloting, I'm off to watch some futurama.

Kinda....

Same thing, except I sent the magic packet directly from my mobile to power on my webserver and used Media Player on my mobile to watch a couple of TV programs I'd recorded and re-encoded for low res/bitrate.... oh the power of HSDPA!

I just hope your not on holiday and wasting the fantastic Windermere landscape, just to find the geekiest way to watch cartoons!!!

WHAT! Use a GUI!? Pah!!

One router serves wireless and 5 unique public IP addresses from my /29 subnet. The other serves up wireless and non route-able IP addresses using NAT. It just happens to run ddWRT so it's good for basic server duties, such as an ssh based proxy server.

This springs to mind...
