quoted for garden work

Just heard today that the quote for out garden work is £1,100.
Here's whats happening, side of house is in bad shape with cracked and missing slabs. So new path laid up to decking, approx 2 wide and runs about 15ft. Lawn edged with cobble stones all round. Play area getting new membrane down and new bark. Thats it.
To me this seems like a steep figure when not much is getting done really.
Am I just a cheapskate or does this even sound in the right region price wise?

Either way I'm getting a few more quotes.

ask for a breakdown usually they end up in a confused mess wondering how they can make it seem like your not being ripped off

Gutted I wasn't here when we were quoted. I'm pricing up the slabs and the bark just now, all the cobblestones for the lawn are already here, I dug them up before the decking went down.

Count the man days you think it should be x £100 a day then double it for materials.

Ahhhh you're in Scotland, add for working in the sleet and rain
