"Quoted for truth" - how do you define it?

If you're going to "***" someone's post, do you do it

a) As a "this" "+1" "so true" style "i agree with this" post
or
b) As a "this is what he wrote, I've quoted it so he can't edit it" eg if someone's being abusive or something else you need proof of
 
I usually try and add an opinion/point to something even if I just agree - makes for some dull reading on the forums when everyone just quotes and doesn't say anything.

To answer your question, people use it as an alternative to A.
I don't do any of them, with the possible exception of "So true" which might have crept out once or twice.

Don't think I've ever done it, I don't really see the need to just quote someone if I can't add anything to it, it isn't as if my +1 would make the post carry more weight or be more useful.
