I have Tuniq Tower 120 CPU Cooler cooling my QX6700 quad core processor @ 3.2 and on full speed its very loud how can I set it to only do this when it gets to a certain temp, as if I set it medium it gets to hot and crashes. I also have a ASUS P5W DH Deluxe mobo. Also apart from going to water cooling is this the best Air cooler for my QX6700. Thanks

There might be some settings in the BIOS to deal with this, so it only runs the fan at higher speeds when the CPU runs hot.

Alternatively you could change the fan on the Tuniq.

I use speedfan, just made it start with windows.

If you set up the config correctly you can set it to speed up.

my speeds are roughly

30% fans @30c
70% fans @45c
100% fans @ 50+

works quite well although is irritating hearing the fans kicking up and down

if you go in the bios and look for qfan and set that to performance mode it should run the fans (provided u have it plugged in to the cpu fan mobo connector) at a higher speed t higher demand. if u cant find it this setting can be found in AIbooster.
