QX9650 or Q6600

which one? if i choose the Q6600 ill be getting sli GTX 280, but if i choose QX9650 ill be sticking to single GTX 280... bareing in mind im moving to vista and want the most power possible!

man save some money buy q6600 overclock to 3.6 easy and if u can overclock to 4ghz wtih decent cooling and save some money for nehalm

SLI GTX 280 with a Q6600 seems like a waste.

I would go for a QX9650@ 4.2Ghz (easy on air) and a single card. Or even just a QX with your current rig is going to be a huge leap, actually just a quad core is going to be a huge leap.

yeah get a QX instead of a Q6600, unlocked mutli and 12mb cache, and runs cooler !

Ahh another member of the more money than sense crowd, woo-hoo!

Just get a single Q6600 and a single GTX280. If you can't comfortably afford stupidl amounts of stupidly priced hardware then simply use some common sense and don't buy it all. A Q6600 and GTX280 will last a long time, SLI will be a waste and the combined cost of the cards will devalue like buggery.

Hmmmm, i have a Quad 9650 @stock at the moment. Are the above screens on "Air"?, I have a Tuniq cooler, so would it just be a case of upping the volt to 1.32, 400fsb/10x multi?.

Yes I went for the Quad 9650 because it seems it will be fast for a long while.
