R&G or Evotech radiator guard, or other?

I noticed a couple of crushed radiator fins today while cleaning, due to stones or particularly big bugs or whatever, plus the thing gets dirty, is difficult to clean and would look nicer covered up I reckon.

My options seem to be the cheaper R&G guard for about £70, or the Evotech one for £100.

Any recommendations on which one to go for here? I don't mind paying the extra if the Evotech is actually better.

Also, how easy are they to remove every so often for cleaning?

Thanks

EP is way better. Tougher and lets more air through. I have one to deal with the cheese radiators Triumph use.

Don't remove them for cleaning, you'll end up stripping the thread one day.

Thanks.

I did notice the cheesiness! You can bend them with your fingernail with 0 effort. Are they nice and easy to clean then, left on the bike? I guess a cloth or sponge would get into the holes to clean them quite nicely.

says they can be glued on,i never trust glue or pads tho, three tiny self tappers are best imo but up to you

some epoxy glue should do it,or those super strong 3m sticky pads,i doubt they come with glue, mine came with screws that's all

that's where most of your damage comes from, the wheel flinging crud up at your rad and mudguard to short

Anyone know what the super strong 3m sticky pads are called? My helmet mount uses them and that's been through all weather and speeds and is solid, so would be happy fitting the fender with similar stuff.

heres mine,it stops about 90% of the crud

Looks good, should help a lot in the winter with keeping dirt off the bits of the downpipes that stick out of the belly pan & also rad protection.

Not sure if should trust that stuff from ebay? I did have a quick look for epoxy and you can get the gorilla glue stuff, but not sure if it'd do the trick for this? Don't know if I should trust it?

I'd go for the self tapping in your case as the rear of the fender isn't as visible, but I think they'd stick out on my bike.

Depends on bike I guess. For mine I had to undo a couple of bolts that secure the rad/oil cooler. Slip the tabbed hole punched sections of the guards into place between the frame/rad fixing points and put the OEM screws back in.

The bit which took the longest was removing the fairings to get access. Actually getting the guards on was easy.

I agree with the once on leave them on sentiment. The screws for mine were self tapping into plastic. You would not want to continually remove them. It's easy enough to clean the thing in-situ.

I also have Evotech upper and lower guards.

By far the best quality and fixing solution of all the options, didn't even have to remove a fairing on my bike, just slide in behind the wheel and two screws!
