hey all..
having some odd issues with my 1800xt which i thought someone might be able to help with.
Basically, on saturday, my comp was fine, happily playing some music, i.e nothing graphically intense at all, when I decided to turn her off as i went on my saturday night shinanigans.
So, sunday comes along and i decide to turn the beast back on to be greated with the normal XP splash screen, followed by a message on my monitor telling me its entering sleep mode.
Bit odd I thought, so after rebooting into safe mode, I try to reinstall catalyst, then to be told my hardware does not support the driver?
So, after completely removing all things to do with ATI, I could then reboot back into 'normal' windows, only at a shockingly low resolution. Notch by notch, I increase the res right upto the 1600 mark and then when trying to increase to my native 1920 res, the montor again falls to sleep.
After a moment or two, the monitor wakes up in its previous res. So, I then try to reinstall ATI which this time works, but on reboot, exactly the same thing happens and my monitor goes bye byes.
Confused i is??
Have tried taking the card out and swapping slots etc but nothing seems to work and have reset rest of system back to normal clock speeds. Have even loaded up a ghost of my system which normally works 100% and has been done well over 10 times but i get the same thing...
Any thoughts folks??
