Passed away at 54 years old from cancer, people in the reptile community will know who he was, he was loved and disliked threw his career but overall he made people aware of the animals and the real side to reptiles not the mythical made up rubbish of them being out to harm us, especially when it came to snakes. I think single handedly he made more people like and love snakes and respect nature and made the once hated, disliked creatures into many peoples favourite pets.

His last video 10 days ago before going into a hospice and passed away.

A lot of reptile keepers on OCUK and I'm sure many of you will want to know this news as I'm sure at some point you have passed by this persons youtube videos and other media over social media.

I know personally he made me get back into reptile keeping and especially snakes after a period without reptiles and today I own 3 snakes for the last 10 years and had a snake earlier in life too that was an amazing learning experience for me as I use to be scared of snakes and funny thing was I loved how they looked and love all animals and was only animal for some strange reason I feared considering I never had a real encounter with one so one day as an 18 year old I went and purchased a Burmese Python as they are my favourite snake and kept it in my bedroom and learned about it and watched it and realised so much we are told about these animals was so untrue and they were just like every animal that is treated with respect and become a family pet like any other conventional pet.

So I have full respect for him for showing the reality of keeping snakes and reptiles as pets and also showing the reality too of some of the animals that may not make great pets or the risks involved with keeping them, yes he did a lot of clickbait bite videos and such but reality was the videos in end showed hey not a big deal to be bitten by a snake that is normally kept as a pet but of course he showed also the dangers of some that are venomous and large constrictors that need to be kept by people with the correct skills and are not really pets but amazing animals in the right hands.

Sad news, incredible how cancer changed his life so dramatically within a year of discovery, he looked so unwell during a brief clip of him at the staff party at his home on Xmas eve.

Shame he didn't get to see his Lega Sea open its doors to the public, but at least he got to view a lot of the enclosures approaching completion before cancer got him.

And now sadly Dingo Dinkelman, one of Brian's youtube mates who ran a channel mostly about venomous snakes, has died following being bitten by a Green Mamba ~2 months ago. :(
I've just read this story.

Why the hell would you become a Youtuber about venomous reptiles if you are allergic to snake venom.

About as sensible as starting a beekeeping channel with an allergy to bee stings.
