R.I.P Chairman Humph...

Just saw this, absolutely gutted :(

Funniest show on the radio. Don't think they'll ever recreate the chemistry.. so it's probably over :(

I hear an interview with Graham Garden and Tim Brook Taylor a year or two ago, and they said that they would definitely not be continuing if Humph left for any reason.

I believe it'll now be repeats only.

I remember that one as well.
I can see them doing a tribute show type thing, just to end it on a high.

http://www.humphreylyttelton.com/ has also changed to allow comments to be made.

Humph said:
...Samantha nipped out to the gramophone library earlier, and as the eager assistants down there suspected she might be a country music lover, they got out every Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson record available. Well, in my experience, she's certainly always been a big fan of Willie's, and now she's got to work her way through a complete boxed set of Johnny's...

Just heard the news and it's very sad :(

ISIHAC was one of my favourite radio programmes and I don't think they could realisticly carry it on without Humph, it just wouldn't be the same.

May the wasp of destiny never fly up your trouser leg of despair.

RIP Humphrey Lyttelton

Just heard this; very sad news :(

Was lucky enough to see I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue being recorded live at the Fairfield Halls in Croydon last year.

RIP Humph.

:(

Just heard this from a mate ...Humph hosted a jazz prog on radio 2 and it formed a part of my music education during the 1980s...a great broadcasting legend is now busking with the greats :)

...and of course, ISIHAC was the funniest progs in the last 30 years ... bless the memory and pass the message on..................................................

............to Mornington Crescent :D

Not unexpected, but still very sad indeed. I know Humph was only reading a script most of the time, but the script was crafted lovingly around his character and delivery. He'll be missed.

And so will Clue. The thought of there never being another series is hard to bear. I think there's scope for guest hosts, but I understand why that won't be tried. It feels like a double death though.
