Hi there my friend has a laptop thats not working at the mo.He would like to save some pics etc.Is there a way i can transfer the files without opening it up.

Hi,

Getting to the HD should be pretty simple - just whip it out and use a HD caddy to connect it to another computer

is there a way buy just conecting my pc thru usb?

No unfortunately.

Youll have to remove the HDD and put it in a caddy. The other pc will see it as another HDD in 'my computer'. Just explore in there and take what you want.

This is assuming the HDD is actually not the fault.
