Very sad news indeed. A great chef who helped shape the UK culinary scene many years ago, and by all acounts a wonderful person.

You do realise this his son has ran the Waterside Inn for 10 years already, Alain Roux.

RIP Michel, his voice was an absolute immensity, the French Attenborough of food.

alwasy loved seeing him on Saturday kitchen and the high esteem that the other chefs always held him in
