The actor, famous for his role in Last of the Summer Wine and voice acting Wallace in Wallace & Gromit has passed away at the age of 96.

RIP to a damn fine actor :(

awww damn - my mum and dad are always watching reruns of Last of the Summer Wine and I was thinking recently that he must be a good age now.

RIP

One of the great talents. May he prosper in the next stage of his journey.

Won't forget Last of the Summer Wine as a youngster sitting around with family and watching.

Good age but still sad news. Was addicted to LOSW but remember him more for Wallace. Never knew he was really a Londoner!

Good age but still sad to see him go, never did like the way the bbc basically crapped on LOTSW by not even giving it a proper sendoff, it had run its course by then but you would have thought a final episode sendoff written specifically for that would have been the right thing to do since it had been going so long. :(

Really gutted at hearing of his passing. I'm a huge fan of LOTSW, and Cleggy was my fave character. Peter Sallis played him wondefully, RIP.

If I remember right, his fave episode was the runaway train one so I'll watch that with a drink this week to pay tribute.

RIP Cleggy :(

As much as I mock LOTSW at times he was very good in it (I think he was the only member of the cast to be in almost, if not every episode), and I have fond memories of watching it with the parents and laughing at his antics.

According to wiki he was in all 295 episodes!
