R.I.P Quentin Willson :(

I know the trio of Jeremy, Richard and James really hit the big time with the then "new" Top Gear and later Grand tour but the earlier trio of Jeremy, Quentin and Tiff on old Top Gear were pretty damn good too. And of course later joined by Vicky too. (Obvs there's been a new, new Top Gear too since the Jeremy exit too)

I remember going to the motor show at the NEC and seeing them live, they had a quite a funny stage act together. He was good too on fifth gear (which I guess was really the true continuation of old Top Gear) but I didn't watch that as much.

RIP :(

Wow, that’s surprising, RIP. I saw him talk at Everything Electric London, he was great. Never thought that would be the last time.

rip - Top gear was never as good again, plus the unlikely series with Jodie Kidd, driving the classics suitably attired.

RIP

I'm a bit too young to remember him from Top Gear but recall a quote of his from a booklet was I was given upon passing my driving test in the late 2000s. To paraphrase "Always assume other drivers around you are either drunk, distracted or incompetent" wise words indeed.

Sad news. He was a very nice chap, lived local to me - Remember sitting in the same spot having breakfast and talking to him about his dogs (who were very interested in our bacon sarnies) watching the planes taking off/landing.

RIP. Surprised to read about this; loved his style and delivery.

A car I always wanted and presented by the man himself:

What a shame. I met him once. Top bloke.
I always remember his review of used BMW 7-series in the late 90s. His advice convinced me to buy one. It was my first posh car and I still remember it fondly.
