R.I.P. Sir Jack Brabham

Championship winning driver and constructor - can't see that ever happening again. An immense achievement.

RIP Sir Jack - a man truly worthy to be called a legend of motor racing.

That's a shame :(

My mini claim to fame is that we had him for a neighbour when we moved to Pyrford, Surrey in the early 70's. I was very young so don't really remember much, but do recall he had a wonderful house and huge plot of land that was subsequently bulldozed and redeveloped for multiple houses when he left the area.

A sad loss. I met him briefly a couple of times at Goodwood and he came across as a really decent bloke with a sharp sense of humour.
 
This is the sort of chap Sir Jack was. In order to win the championship in 1959 he just had to finish the race, but his car ran out of fuel on the last lap. So he pushed it.
