R-Type - Shoot-em-up Remake ( INDIE )

Back in the eighties Konami ruled the world of SHMUPS with the Nemesis (or Gradius) series. But Irem Corp. (known also from Lode Runner and Kung Fu Master) released a killer shoot-em up called: R-Type.
With end-bosses sized the entire screen, different directions scrolling and much more advanced techniques this new shooter rocked our homecomputers!


This remake is somewhat of a tribute to both Konami's Nemesis Legacy and Irem's R-Type as it has influences from both games. Still it's mostly R-Type and a very good remake for Windows to begin with.

Not sure whath the point is when emulators do such a good job.

Because not everyone wants to go through the hastle of emulation and getting the right files, especially as it's not strictly legal. Also some remakes are better than the originals though this is rare.

Project-X was also hard

Im a great fan of R-Type Think ill have some of this since ill sold my Xbox as i had it on Arcade..As above what amigafan said my god its hard, Great game tho

Believe it or not, not all originals were perfect

A lot of remakes improve on the originals.

Open your eyes

A Nemesis/Gradius/R-Type mix is far from a bad thing
