R1 for touring, Help :)

Hi guys,

Maybe off to Germany soon with the Doris on the back of the R1 :eek:

Space it tight but need to carry a few bits also.

My thoughts are 2 rucksacks.

Tankbag? No idea which one, ideas?

Renntec Sports Rack so I can pop something else on the back!

Anybody recommend me some luggage suitable taking into account the R1 is 50% plastic on the tank.

Get a decent tank bag and a small rucksack, you will be amazed how much you can get in a tank bag tbh.

Quick Lock Tank Bags are great, but not cheap.

Ventura racks I hear are good also, but haven't tried one. You can get 50L bags for those too

My parents very recently did this (as in they got back Saturday morning)
They have 2x 32 liter panniers, 1x42litre , a tank bag, and a rucksack each.

They were camping most nights and took 2 weeks going through France, Belgium, Austria Germany and then back.

Bike is a Yamaha 900 Diversion
