Hi. I bought these guys from OCUK ready for my new PC Build. I'd like some advice on what way to create sound, when the PC arrives please.

I've got the Speakers working just fine using my old box, having them connected to the Headphone Socket, but the new machine has an Optical Out.

Do you think I should run these Speakers using the Headphone Socket on the new machine, or the Optical Out and use the DAC inside the Speakers, rather than inside the PC Box?

Any thoughts gratefully received.

I'd use optical. Can't imagine onboard audio being better than the DAC inside the Edifier speakers. Away from EMI too, which is always a bonus.

well if you already have an optical cable there's an easy way to find out - use your ears
