Evening

I am having major problems tonight with loading into BF4. BF4 as we all know has not been all that stable and i started to get this error message tonight and now cant even get into game. I am using the latest 13.12 drivers and my Direct X is update date

This is the error

BF4 DirectX function GetDeviceRemovedReason failed with dxgi_error_device_hung

can you help ?

I had this last night. The only thing I changed was to increase the fan speed on my GPU as it was getting too warm. Since then no more error messages. May be coincidence but with checking your temps first before messing with anything else.

Oh and this error has been reported by a lot of other people and all the software solutions I read about didn't seem to have worked. Most people seem to be putting it down to buggy game code.

see i am under water so my temps are 40c so cant be that i was working fine yesterday :( mine loads into game as soon as it swaps the the main gaming screen boom this error message tried 4 times now. do you also get this black screen where it locks up solid ? after 10-15 mins of game play ?

Hmm can't be temps then. Yes it was a black screen. I also got it with both 32bit and 64bit versions. Touch wood it seems to have gone away although I did read of people having it return a few weeks later. I just kept killing the application and restarting. Not a lot I can change as I recently updated all my drivers.

yea just what i thought also. My question is can someone advise me on the best over clock on my R290x. Mines starts to come unstable at 1150\1450 plus i am now using the latest MSI Beta 18 what does not seem to have power limit. can you tell me the best settings ?

Most peoples problems are from overclocks, stable on all games except BF4 for some reason.

My friend had to downclock his 780ti to stop the crashing..

have you tried unistalling beta 18 and going back to beta 17 afterburner
also for the power limit missing try a different skin, maybe default.
