As title says spec:

Msi 970 gaming mobo
Evga 600w psu, good one
Xfx r390p connected via hdmi also tried connection via dvi to hdmi. I get some artifacting occasionally with both.
Tried changing the ram about and all the standard stuff.
Got a dvi to vga coming tomorrow. Only have a 1080 lcd TV to use as a monitor right now.

Anyone think its anything exept the cable? Has anyone been able to see bios etc with hdmi?

My mobo doesnt have built in video. I dont have a spare gfx card either. Got a dvi/vga cable coming tomorrow and if that doesnt work ill try a cheap gfx card.

The TV has a seperate pc mode so hopefuly that will recognice the pc.

If not I think its a bum gpu but should be alright

Okay so the dvi didn't fit because it's dvi d. R390 only takes dvi d b cause it's all digital with no analog support. The dvi d to hdmi won't work because the screen won't accept the low resolution of the bios.

Next I'm trying a dvi d to vga, digital to analog active converter. This will hopefully put out a signal that the tv can detect through its an along vga input even at the low res the bios uses.
Have to wait and see tomorrow.

When the bloody hell did dvi change..

Update.converter came, didnt get a chance to use it as the TV has gone **** up. I think its a power board or something, gives me a blink code.

The card isnt over clocked because ive never actually been able to use it lol

It's all working now. Needed to install drivers for hdmi to work then need to flick a switch on the mobo so the cpu would run at 4ghz rather than 1.4ghz
