R5 2600, upgrade?

I built my PC about 3 years ago now, R5 2600 paired with a RX590. Neither are over clocked yet. Been a great machine so far, but now seems to be a bottle neck. Like many others I have recently purchased Battle field 2042. Been seeing lows of 25FPS and highs of 70FPS.
The question is do I overclock it or just jump straight into a upgrade? If I upgrade it I plan to use the CPU in my daughters pc what I plan to build next year so it will still get plenty of use still.
 
Is it just 2042 that's giving problems?
I'd overclock if not already, and wait for some patches.
If you're noticing it in more games, then maybe.

It’s the first game that I have noticed it in, was wondering if it going to the same with future titles.
That was my first idea and will probably best giving that a try first.
