R6 too cheap? advise needed

Hi guys, Im going to look at a 2003 yamaha R6 later on with 9,500 miles. it is in original condition bar a "fuel" aftermarket can and looks to be in good condition. I know the usual check points for a motorbike but is there anything I should be especially aware of?

I did a hpi check and it was exported in 2005 but has been fully re registered again (phoned dvla to check).

its up for £2,995 at a dealer which seems really very cheap?

any advise would be appreciated

That aside, i wouldn't say tis suspicously cheap, having a quick search of AT it might be a tad on the low side, but that wouldn't put me off tbh, what i would do is get the reg number & actually call a couple of insurance companies just to make sure they'll be no unpleasant surprises insurance wise, just because it's been exported, then re-imported back into blighty.

Damn shame this one has got a stubby on it, ide be more inclined to go for that than the one at the dealer otherwise.

Me neither, but given how anal insurance companies are becoming these days it's prudent to check before monies changed hands, not afterwards, the fact that such a relatively common small bike has been exported then reimported might raise an eyebrow or 2 with the insurance quote.

Still prefer red over yellow, teh yellow one looks like an angry bee.

This was my initial thought too. £3k is about 'ball park' for a 2003 YZF R6. Loads to choose from at that budget.

Definitely not "cheap", though for a dealer that seems a fairly reasonable price for the mileage if it's in good condition.

that makes me feel a bit better because normally as the old saying goes, if it seems to good to be true it probably is!

With that mileage, should be MINT. Seems about right price wise. Get the engine and frame VIN numbers and double check against any MOT certs he has though... whether dealer or not, always check that especially if it's been abroad mate. Where a picture give me one now lol
