Anyone heard about a bug found in the board so release date has been pushed back to March sometime, ive searched but can't find nothing on it, and ive searched on here to to see if its already been posted, so if it has apologies, and ill get myself to specsavers fo missing it.

I doubt ATi will push to march. That will be losing too many market shares to Nvidia. But of course, I wouldn't be too sure of it myself. Not much of an ATi fan here, so I personally wouldn't care

No it was set to get released around Jan 30th, all the info is in the R600 info thread, but apparently somones heard from a reliable source that its now been pushed back to March sometime as they found a bug in the board, but i can't find nowt on it so could all be rubbish who knows, im just wondering if anyone else has heard owt.

Wonder if Gibbo has heard owt about it.

Ati are getting better and better at releasing cards on time, they keep this up their cards are gonna have the same release schedule as duke nukem forever. :rolleyes:

I don't know someone heard it form a very relaible source, i can't find anything so looks like were just going to have to wait and see, if it has been pushed back due to a bug in the board, then eventually they will come out and say so, they won't just pass on the release date and have everyone saying 'where is it then', etailors are going to have be told in advance etc... that they aint getting it as planned.

I suppose if it is true, and it is eventually announced then i can say 'you heard it here first'.

to not be so blunt, theres nothing on any other forum about this i.e rage3d (dedicated ati board with close ties to ati) and others, nothing in the press... and theres engineer samples of the board already sent out ?

Certainly it was February that was floating about originally, but I'm sure I read somewhere that they were redesigning the chip as the first tape out wasn't too hot (or was too hot as the case may be

) and that it was going to put the release back again to late March, but that was going back a couple of months.

Tbh, one or two months doesn't sound like enough time to fix a massive defect. So if they even have been knocked back I'm sure it won't be a massive error.

G90 lol, na mate, G90 aint going to come out anytime soon. They probably will come out with 8900 series and the low-mid end cards such as the 8600GT, GS etc.
