r600 on agp.

I guess AMD/ATI have thought about it and I don't think there will be a performance hit otherwise they would not make them.

I do think that they have kept AGP alive for too long and that the R&D cost could be better spent on other things.
They're not doing R600 on AGP though, just R610 and R630 which will be mid-range/low-end parts.

R600 (X2800XT etc.) will most likely have the same problem the 8800GTX does.

Believe it or not, some people like the processors and motherboards they are using now, and believe it or not some people would rather spend that sort of money on other things. :)
comming from a c2d owner

Problem is, AGP cards cost more money than buying PCI-E boards and a PCIE GPU.

The only reason not to do it is if you don't wish to install windows, OR if you can't install a new motherboard (to nervous to do it, case won't fit it, blah blah blah).

but if you are goin pci-e u will prob get a top of the range card so even if u get a cpu and a mobo for the price of the new card u still need to fork out cash for a new card i.e. another £200, which i for one (and many others like me) cannot afford :) so roll on the r600 agp. and u gotta remember people could be on 5200 (like i was b4 my 6800) so an r600 will BLOW THEIR MINDS

END OF THREAD not really keep goin :D
