R600 or G80

haha, owned easyrider

the R600 WILL be more effecient, don't forget, with AMD, this will likely be their main goal.

effeciancy is everthing

Dont see how?

Will it?

I want proof that the R600 will be more efficient?

Cause this thread has none.

It just little fanboys defending cards that do not exist.Made up of facts that are based on nothing but conjecture.

Face it boys. The 8800 GTX rocks just deal with it.

By the time R600 arrives after the boring wait NV will have something new to release.

Your defending nVidia for no reason

You have 2 stay calm and realise that ATi have equal opportunities. Both manufactures can't just keep making cards faster and more power consuming, one needs to take a step back.

Won't it be better having a graphics card more powerful than a 8800 but half the size and uses as much power as a 7600GT, therefore it can fit in a small Antec CubeCase with a 350W PSU.

I'm defending no one.

I dont care who makes the cards.

Fact is the 8800 GTX is like having top ATI/NV cards in SLI or Xfire in a one card solution.

Relatively speaking it does not use that much power considering the speed gains over the heat and power requirements of 1950 xfire for example.

it's not all about the flagship

Thats funny I had the same dream only the other day. Back in the real world ....... Not a chance this time around or the next, or the next ......

There aren't any games coming out between now and r600 release that'll chug my system so I'm going to wait and see... well try to anyway as I'm not very good at it! I have managed not to go conroe yet though so I might make it...

Fixed. :p

I Just Hope the new ATI card will be no larger than the existing range and run Cool and quiet

You Know AMD/ATI Should be looking into a Motherboard combining the GPU and CPU

1) 65nm manufacturing by Q4 2006, ATI would have access to this as well

Feel free to correct me, but I think the r600 is using 80nm, not 65. Inq. reports that the transition from 90 to 80 is one of the reasons the card has been delayed. G80 uses 90nm and did not have the same problem.

Also, what's wrong with the inquirer?

Call everyone little fanboys then come out with that in the same post. Such a fool. I thought you knew your stuff but your just a stuck up hot head. Most of your posts pre G80 till now have been attrocious.

Geez do you ever give it a rest. YOU ARE COMPARING OLD TECH TO NEW TECH. I thought you knew your stuff as well.

Fanboyism it sounds like and not that you support Nvidia through and through, just that you have the top card. Sad.

Now if you look at Nvidia's image quality BEFORE the G80 compared to ATI's current OLD tech you'll see that ATI destroys Nvidia's. OH can Nvidia's last offering give you HDR and AA together? No. Shimmering issues here, there and everywhere with Nvidia's old tech. With the last ATI x1800/x1900 Vs Nvidia 7800/7900, ATI is the clear winner with a much all round better card. It's a no brainer. Image quality not far off G80 with HDR & AA support compared to the 7900 series is the big winner in my eyes. Also does better at higher res's with eye candy a plenty.

With ATI still to answer back with R600 and with them stomping all over Nvidia last round then why would ATI(AMD) bring such a weak contender to the table?. It would cost millions for it to flop like that. Imagine if ATI pushed their image quality as far as Nvidia has from 7900 to 8800. It would then leave the G80 standing in that department alone. There is no proof though but if you follow the way tech has being going from certain manufacturers then you can usually make a feasible educated guess.

I absolutley love the 8800GTX and one of my best buds has one on order right now on my word. I think this card is amazing and kicks ATI's old offerings to the kerb. I'm a performance lover, not the brand. I admit I didn't like Nvidia that much for reasons stated above with ATI being able to do the things that Nvidia couldn't but it's different now. I respect Nvidia now with G80.

I suspect that the R600 will be a powerhouse and probably a little bit faster than the G80 but thats just an educated guess from how it's been running previously with ATI over Nvidia. Although this time the image quality will be real close. It will be interesting now Nvidia has a class card to compete with.

Face it boys. The 8800 GTX rocks just deal with it <---- Statement from EasyRider comparing the G80 to well.... nothing. My 6800Ultra owns your 9800pro. Well duh of course it does.

Hmm like what,

Examples please to back up this lame none existent arguement.

Were did I compare anything?
I made a statement that is based on fact.

Fanboyism it sounds like and not that you support Nvidia through and through, just that you have the top card. Sad.

Sorry you have lost me.What are you talking about?
Has nothing to do with having "the top Card"

It people being miffed at the mo that they have nothing to talk about on these froums other than the G80.

ATI have nothing to offer at the mo.But I really don't see the point arguing about how a Card, that does not exist yet in the retail sector, and how it will be more effiecient etc..faster,better IQ than than the current top card.

Its just pointless hear say and made up BS imo.

Can't hide the fact that it does. And again I wasn't comparing anything.
I never said the GTX rocks compared too..........

So stop talikng carp.

You're wasting your time.

When someone spends £500 on a graphics card, they're gonna defend it, no matter what.

I'm not defending anything,

When someone does not have £500 to spend on a gfx card they're gonna dis no matter what.

LOL,

But its not really is it,

You spend a little every few months.

For example had a GX2 7950 for 3 months sold it for £320,

I lost 50 quid on it over a 3 month period.

This is cheaper than renting SKY + and having a boring time watching lame TV!

I will do the same with the 8800 GTX when the new card is released I'll buy it.Wether it be the R600 or the 8800 refresh.

I'll sell the 8800 GTX for little loss and move on.

Having had the fastest card in existence for around 20 quid a month! :D
