R600 to be Released tomorrow

FrannoBaz said:
Yeah, they've made the Journalists sign a form which says that they cant speak about it until they are permitted by AMD/ATI
Good....Hope they keep to it.....

As am bored to deaf of hearing about the R600.....Why can't they just release there stupid card...

I wonder if AMD/ATI first words are going to be " Sorry we going be delaying are r600 again for another 6 to 12months"

lol, my thoughts exactly, chaparral. It's like Duke Nukem Forever - great at first, a few disappointing delays... and then, for me, it's getting to the stage where I just don't care anymore 'cos they're taking so long about it :p I've given and will read about it when I care about it (e.g. when it's acuatally released) ;)

it wont be a leap
the 2900xt will be at the performance of the gtx
then it will be the waiting game to who will bring out the high enders
the ultra or the xtx

but either way im so bored of waiting

The only reason R600 might come to turn over things for AMD/ATI is that there are no games yet to demand such performance levels just to play. If crysis was out for example, then I would buy a GTX without ANY hestitation. If it was bundled, I would pre order even!

ATI takes advantage of this, else it would kiss goodbye to the GFX market with such loss reports!

It is a hard launch, Gibbo will have loads of cards to buy on the day, it is stupid what they are doing tomorrow, as said they have to sign saying they will not mention anything about it to anyone, then after tomorrow thats its, AMD/ATi go silent until release on 14th May, very odd, suppose the delays been that long they are just trying to keep everyones interest.

Another reason why R600 could turn things over is because Nvidia have not gave their 8 series driver support, everyone is waiting on R600 now, Nvidia have missed a great opportunity by not releasing any drivers, and they know they have, look at their Vista fiasco, their driver support for their 8's is absolutely dire, 3x sets in over 5 months for XP which are crap, 1x single set for Vista, big mstake, now with R600 due they have been releasing beta drivers on the hr to make ppl think they are now supporting their cards, they finally releasing drivers and to not wait for the R600, or sell their already bought 8 series cards when it comes out, be interesting to see once R600 is out if they go back to no driver support.

Seriously, guys, it's not that far away. Yeah, there's been XX months of delays, but it's like, 3 weeks away. I'm still gonna be going with SLi GTX's in my new rig either way. I'm really not an ATi person.

The thing I don't understand is how the hell do we know when to expect the card, rumours just rumours about the release date have been going round, if the journo's can't speak about it then will ATi at least give us a bloody launch date  :( .
