I have the MSI R7 370 2g gaming
Are these meant to go up and down depending on gpu utilsation?
GPUZ shows core at 450mhz idling and it goes up to the expected 1050mhz the VDDC also changes up and down with the core.
when I fire up kombustor which shows my gpu as being R7 370/R9 370 which brings me to another question is the R7 370 the same board as the R9 370?

The core speed changing under load is normal.

Your board started life as the 7870 and evolved to the R9 270 and then the R7 370 , the only real differences are tweaks to the speeds and bios.

Yeah I understood the 7850 r7 265 but the fact kombustor see it as both r7 and r9 370 is confusing me

It's because there is an oem r9 370 which is a 7850 and shares the same die as the r7 370.
As for your gpu clock fluctuations are you using crimson drivers with the energy efficiency tab on, aswell as frtc and v sync. Don't use kombustor for testing use games.
