R7 5800X PBO2 QUESTION

Hello

My 5800x manages to run all core -30 in curve optimiser this is how I got my best score on r20 CB so far.
After I saw its stable i tried to get some Max CPU boost clock override.. tried from 1 to max but when running CB R20 there is no difference whatsoever on my clocks, they get stuck on 4750mhz (same like when it was on 0 clock override)
When I'm on idle i see some cores jumping on 5ghz . But while i run the bench they have a cap at 4750

Any ideas what's that about and how could i slowly test to raise my clock?

The boost override won't effect all core clocks since you're not going over the normal boost of 4.85 it will however effect single core boost.

The boost algorithm on Ryzen 5000 is AI, its not like Intel where its a fixed frequency, what its doing is monitoring its own Voltage, Current, Heat and and load, with that it will always try and shoot for the highest Mhz it can with in perimeters, so a lighter load where the CPU isn't pulling so much current and or is cool its has the headroom to boost to 5Ghz, on a high stress load where its pulling more current and running warmer it may only boost to 4.7Ghz.

Adjusting PBO is increasing those limits, Curve Optimiser is AI based undervolting, with it you might get lower voltage and current draw so the CPU has more headroom to boost.

These CPU's are modern, Smart CPU's, this does make them a bit more difficult to understand.

As a Ryzen 5000 owner this is essential viewing. :)

Thank you so much for that.
Would you mind sharing (in pm if you want) your pbo2 settings?

PBO: Advanced
Curve Optimizer Symbol: Negative
Curve Optimizer amount: 10
Core Clock off set +150Mhz

Tho every CPU is diffrent, what works for mine may not work for yours, but people in here are pretty knowledgeable and will help you set it up if you ask.

Thanks a lot for your help mate.
After a lot of experimenting I keep on geyting my best result on a stable -30 curve +50 mhz only and I get 6100+ on r20.. compared to what others do / bench, mine seems to good to be true but so far I'm happy
