r9 280x not recognized? D:

So I finished my build, everything seems to be working fine/plugged in correctly... but my graphics card doesn't seem to be recognized. not sure what to do... any advice?

Downloaded and installed the drivers for it?

Ensure you have the latest motherboard BIOS. This is the very first thing to check if you have problems with a gpu being recognised.

I tried to install the gpu drivers but I got an application error message unfortunately. 'failures occurred during installation' hm

try bios update first,

what motherboard are you using? also tried flicking the bios switch on the graphic card?

if the boards not recognising it how you expect to install drivers for it?

boot from onboard graphics and update to latest mb bios then try gpu

EDIT: thought I linked the win 8.1 64 bit links, do i need ALL of them?

first update to f2 bios,download it extract it to usb mem stick then reboot into bios and flash through qflash

I'm a bit iffy on the bios update... do I NEED to? it sounds like it can cause problems

Only if you want your motherboard to recognise your gpu!

Ah thanks. Ill put it on an empty memory stick and I imagine it's pretty straight forward right?

okay I updated the bios. nothing changed. no idea what to do now... hmmmm.
