Hi all

Been offered a R9 280x Twin Frozr for £60.. Shall i??

I only game at 1080p

It's a decent card for moderate gaming use at 1080p. Sixty quid sounds like a good price. You'll likely need an ok power supply for it i.e. better than a generic 200w

I just switched mine out after using it for years.

Yeah they still pretty decent at 1080p, lower graphic games like overwatch you can max out and never get below 60fps.

More demanding games will need settings turning down but you can still get it looking fairly good and stay above 60 fps.

I run Doom at 1080p/ 60fps with graphic settings on high/ ultra with a bit of tweaking. Wolfenstein 2 for comparison runs between 40 and 60 on similar settings. In short, it’s a great card and £60 is a good price.
