Hey guys, put new build together today that some kind members on here helped me pick out.
I've hit a snag with plugging in the 8 and 4 pin power connectors into the R9 290 card. The Superflower 550w PSU has huge plastic connectors that actually stop the connectors from plugging into the card due to the huge back on this XFX card. I've tried to show what I mean in one of the pictures...If I was to cut off to the plastic connectors then I could plug in the 8/6 pin cables. For now i'm using adapters which means I have a combination of 4 cables going into the card to power it instead of 2 (I think I've done it correctly, see pic).
I don't really want to send the PSU back as system so far seems stable (I'm writing this on it), what do you recommend I do? I could just leave it as it is but it's using extra PSU cables unnecessarily and is a bit messy. Or I guess I could always cut off the plastic catches? Advice please
