R9 290 Tri x issue

I wouldn't be surprised if you still got the same problem with the new PSU

Why do you think i will have the same problem.

It was an old 750w other companies own brand

I'm thinking it still might not be the PSU but the card itself because it happened to me and in the end it was faulty memory on the card which a lot of people are suffering from

There is a tiny switch on the side that faces you



Slide that across and see if that helps

That's just the BIOS switch...

Well all up and running fine now at last.
I was using gigabyte easytune6 for oc on the cpu and for some reason the system didnt like it with the new card installed.
I have now just removed easytune6 and applied a manual overclock and everything works fine. I am still a little put off with the Sapphire tri x though and with all the black screen issues i have seen reported with this card i am considering returning it and getting something else.

The black screening may be a driver issue, i have had 2 black screens since going from 14.3 beta driver to the 14.4 so it may not be the cards fault.

I wouldn't worry, if it is all working now. It was most likely the PSU issue.

Remember that for every thread with an issue there are likely a lot more people without the issue with the same card. I haven't had any issues with mine even when I push the card with OC etc.

Never had a problem with mine, running the GPU and CPU overclocked on a three year old XFX Pro 750 (SeaSonic OEM) its solid
