r9 290 tri-x upgrade or crossfire

hi I have a sapphire 290 tri - x and have wondered about getting another 290 , do I remember right and that they do not need to be the same make to crossfire only same model (would I need another tri-x or just a 290)?
where can I find a good deal on one as have only found second hand ones on auction site or would it be better to get a newer card .

I am playing battlefield 1 and titanfall 2 +cod

Any 290 would do, crossfire is hit and miss most of the time though.

Any thought of selling and just getting a Fury ?

Fury isn't really close to the performance of two 290's in CF - they are closer to the GTX 1080, and I'd honestly rather buy a used GTX 980 ti than a Fury.

You would as you just an nvidia fanboy and could sell you anything.

Any 290 will do, you should be able to get them for around the £100-£120 mark.

Any 290 will work. BUT crossfire not to mention trifire sucks...

It really does.

I have 2x 290x... and they never work well together.

SLI is just as bad. the the game makers fault though.
