A used gtx 980 ???
For the performance increase, i dont think it would be worth it...? It will be about £200 extra once i sell the 290
It's more than a third faster. I had an Msi 290 overclocked it to its max, bought a msi gtx 980 overclocked it and got a substantial performance boost, especially in games where they favour nvidia drivers where I really was getter a third or more better performance. And not too mention being able too turn on nvidia gameworks.
Double checked this with my friend who has a better 290 than I had and again the gtx 980 was about a third faster. In some games yes not much of an improvement but in many games it really does make a difference witcher 3, project cars, Gta 5 too name a few. Plus your system will run cooler.
Then again you could just wait till the next gen of gpu's but who wants too wait lol. Or get a second 290 for crossfire
