bought the 290 Vapor-X a few days ago. Iv just installed it and booted up.

Out of the 3 fans only the middle fan is spinning at the moment and the 2 outer fans are stopped. Im wondering if they come on when it hits a certain temp? or should they all be going even when computer is idle.

thanks for your help.

they should spin all the time far as im aware?

you checked everything is fully seated? gpu,gpu fan wires ect

Well well. The card has an integrated fan controller. There is a very small switch on the side of the card. When set to "ON" the outer fans only come on when the card hits around 60degrees and above.

I only found this out because I noticed the switch when I decided to remount the card. It was set to "ON" out of box so I set to "OFF" incase it had been wired wrong and rebooted. All 3 fans now worked.

The integrated fan controller is not specified in the product description on the OCUK website. It should be. Some people might just box the card and send it back thinking its broken.

you shouldnt have to goto third party websites to find that out. not everyone will copy and paste that link into their browser and read the review. OCUK doesn't have the complete spec listed and should in my opinion.

anyway its working, no harm done :)
