R9 290x on 650 watt

http://www.coolermaster.com/powersupply/gx-series/gx-650w/
Output Capacity 650W
Max. Output Capacity 780W

will there be a problem if its running over its normal output capacity

I have just bought a sapphire r9 290 vapour x oc with a coolermaster 650w psu. So far it is working fine with no issues but I am planning to upscale my psu and buy a more powerful one as I think I may be running a tight line on watts.

That said all the psu calculators have stated that with my current configuration I only require 505watts.

It could depend more on what your running in your setup, if you are overclocking ect.

What is your system setup?

i7 3770k
32gb ddr3
m5 ssd
2tb western dig

H100

just a little weird being a student and cant really afford for my pc to blow its load

650W will be fine, was running 2x 290xs and a 4790k off 750w for a time.

Wouldnt recommend it but itl work :D

The Coolermaster GX range are Coolermasters budget psu's and are pretty rubbish and get poor reviews. Saying that, it has 624w on the 12v rail so should be ok for your pc. Due to the low quality components inside it could heat up and get noisy quickly.
