R9 290x on 650 watt

having just bought a new

i final noticed on the page it says you need a min of 750
unlucky for me my psu is only 650
should i get a new psu or will it be ok

I have just bought a sapphire r9 290 vapour x oc with a coolermaster 650w psu. So far it is working fine with no issues but I am planning to upscale my psu and buy a more powerful one as I think I may be running a tight line on watts.

That said all the psu calculators have stated that with my current configuration I only require 505watts.

It could depend more on what your running in your setup, if you are overclocking ect.

650W will be fine, was running 2x 290xs and a 4790k off 750w for a time.

Wouldnt recommend it but itl work

Should be alright. Run your system through the extreme PSU calculator to be sure.

I just bought the same card as a weekly deal and it runs fine on my Corsair CX600W PSU.

The Coolermaster GX range are Coolermasters budget psu's and are pretty rubbish and get poor reviews. Saying that, it has 624w on the 12v rail so should be ok for your pc. Due to the low quality components inside it could heat up and get noisy quickly.
